The Independent have written a glowing review of Simian Mobile Disco’s ‘Murmurations’ show at the Barbican last week, along with the Deep Throat Choir.

“There are two distinct components: the 27 women of Deep Throat Choir, whose ethereal tones and murmurs weave within one another; and then, standing in front them, there is James Ford and Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco, spinning dark, hypnotic beats. But, at the times when it all comes together, they move as one musical creature.”

SMD share The Making of ‘Murmurations’ video

Simian Mobile Disco have shared this short video showing the making of ‘Murmurations’. It shows a glimpse of the creative journey of the recording process with Jas, James and the Deep Throat Choir at the Pool Studio in London, and then the subsequent sessions at Jas’ studio in Kent to record all the electronics and percussion.

Simian Mobile Disco’s second single from their new album ‘Murmurations’ is out today. ‘Hey Sister’ features vocals from The Deep Throat Choir & has already received radio support from BBC R1’s Huw Stephens and also BBC 6 Music’s Shaun Keaveny! Listen to the single here.
